Honest Screen Journal

Editorial policy

Honest Screen Journal aims to make its reasoning visible. We distinguish observation from inference, give context for claims and correct meaningful errors when they are brought to our attention.

Accuracy and sourcing

We check factual statements against relevant, identifiable sources and use sources suited to the question being asked. Articles should make clear what a source supports, what remains uncertain and where an explanation is an interpretation rather than an established fact. We do not imply that a screenshot, search result or isolated post settles a question by itself.

Independence and partnerships

Editorial decisions are made for readers, not to secure a favourable mention or placement. Material created with a partner or supported by a commercial relationship is clearly labelled as such, and partner placements are kept distinct from independent editorial coverage. A partnership does not guarantee editorial endorsement.

Corrections and updates

Readers can contact us through the Contact page with a specific correction, the passage at issue and, where possible, supporting material. We review credible reports, correct errors when warranted and make the change clear to readers. When an update changes the meaning of an article, we aim to explain that change rather than silently leaving an outdated impression.

Illustrations and limits

Some illustrations may be AI-generated and will be identified when used. Illustrations are not evidence for factual claims. We do not claim certainty where the available material cannot support it, and we distinguish illustrative examples from reporting about a specific event.

Our point of view

Trust grows when we notice the limits.

A screen offers evidence, not the whole story. We look closely, ask what is missing and avoid claiming more than the available context supports.
